...in the beginning, i peed a lot...now that seems to be tapering off...i still feel sort a woosey and weird as i enter Week 2 of Induction, that wondrous period where we basically kick our body in the ass and get it to surrender it's beloved adipose tissue...mine is being, in it's inimitable fashion, difficult...we think it's because one of the blood pressure meds i take slows down the process....lucky me...i need to lose wight to get the BP down, and get off the med, but the med is slowing down the weight loss, and...well....crap....i think i'm just gonna scream...the long range plan is to do this until i can get active again, and then get on something more sensible, like Weight Watchers for the long haul....i am just absolutely serious this time...it's gotta go.....

i tried the ketostix.....not much action there....surprise.....i have a bad attitude, eh?....the wife brought me home all this cool low carb stuff made by Carb Solutions....lo-carb ketchup, and bread-and-butter pickles, and teryaki marinade, and so on...i highly recommend their barbecue sauce...it tastes excellent, and is only 3g carb per 2 tbsp serving, as opposed to the average of about 13g per for regular....try mixing some with a little dijon mustard..yummers!

anyway, i wanna be healthy....i wanna be skinny, but mostly healthy...don't ever ever ever take your health for granted, kiddies.....ever......

Later, you losers,

The Masked Blogger: tried to find scales formidable enough to weigh his big fat ass...and failed....

That's the ketones your body is producing to turn your fat into fuel.  Made me feel like shit too.

Don't give up yet....give the stix a rest of a few days and then try again.  You might be surprised at the results.

howdily-doodily, shadesofgrey...

as it happens, everything i hold dear in the food kingdom is high carb, and i LOVE ketchup/catsup....it's loaded with sweet....i have to cut back, cut down, cut it out, cut and run, cut up, cut over, cut and paste, and otherwise change all of my ways or die in an unhealthy way....saddening, yes, but at the same time, i'm kind of excited by the prospect of being able to do stuff that i can't now, and actually feeling better....look ma, it's a whole new me!

be sweet,

hi again, dharmgrl....

for some odd reason, feeling like something the dog dragged out of the cat box has never appealed to me....dunno why....but i won't quit...now where's my medal?....if i have to feel crappy to get to a plce where i don't. so be it....teh good Lord knows that i've likely had way more than my share of fun, anyway...sooner or later, if you dance, you gotta pay the band....

be sweet,

TMB, have you seen a nutritionist?  With high blood pressure, you may not want to be doing the low carb thing.  I have high bp and low carb diets do really bad things to me.  That "woosey" feeling that you are getting may be blood sugar or blood pressure related.

I have been following the more sensible and more balanced diet of a doctor prescribed diabetic diet.  I have lost weight faster, have had more energy and feel better about what I am eating more so than any other diet I have tried.  It has also brought down my blood sugar, blood pressure and heart rate.  Most nutritionists get very uncomfortable at the low carb lifestyle.  If you have health issues, you need all the fresh fruits that you can't realistically have on a low carb diet.  Fresh fruit, veggies, low fat protein, low fat dairy and whole grains will help you feel better and give you more eating options.  I have a couple quotes from my nutritionist:

1) You didn't gain this weight quickly, and you shouldn't lose it too quickly either as that is a shock on your system.
2) If everyone would just remember that moderation is key, we wouldn't have as many overweight people and health problems caused by being overweight
3) The food pyramid still holds true today for a healthy eating habit
4) (When asked about the low carb diet) Italians eat carbs with just about every meal and eat very little meat.  How come their population doesn't have an obesity problem or how come heart disease pretty much doesn't exist there?
5) Nobody got fat from eating fruits and vegetables.

Nutritionists really can help you.
